The capacity of the IRAN’s installed renewable power plants reached 670 megawatts

Currently, 445 megawatts of renewable energy are being built inside the country and the installed capacity of new energy has reached 670 megawatts. So far, there are 97 MW power plants installed in the country and 42 other MW plants are under construction.

From July 2009 to the end of December 97, two billion and 673 million kilowatt-hours of renewable energy sources were produced, which generated less than one million 844 thousand tons of greenhouse gas from renewable energy sources.

Also, the amount of new energy production has reduced 759 million cubic meters of fossil fuel consumption in the country, which is one of the main sources of air pollution in the country.

It is worth mentioning that this new energy production has saved 588 million liters of water consumption in recent years, which alone was about 14 million liters in December.

Renewable energy has also attracted 43,600 people directly and indirectly in the country, and the volume of nongovernmental investment in this sector has reached over 101 trillion rials.

The study of the figures in this section shows that 42% of the solar power plants are 41% windy, 13% small hydro hydroelectric, 2% of heat recovery and 2% biomass.
